Pause - Take Time Out, Sunday 8 November

The next Kibworth and Fleckney Praise service will be held at Kibworth Methodist Church on Sunday 8 November.

Shorter days, longer nights and approaching Christmas, often means we start to get hectic, so this Sunday offers us all a chance to PAUSE, take a break and relax in the presence of God.

As always, everybody is welcome. This time you might like to bring a cushion or blanket along with you.

Enjoy, and bring a friend.

Slightly longer break

We have all been so busy doing exciting things, that we have had to postpone the planned Praise service for 13 September.

But don't worry - we will get back on track soon.

You might be interested in the Fire and Glory Day on Sat 12 September as part of the Jesus Loves Leicestershire initiative. It is the third annual event, running in Humberstone Gate, Leicester, from 11am to 4pm.

Summer Break

Its been an up and down year so far. Some great worship and praise in both villages, as we see Christ's love shine out. Some great developments as well - a number of great events organised by Fleckney Churches Together, the ongoing developments in Kibworth such as the new youth worker and The Well. God really is good, and shining down His love on both villages/

But there are some real challenges for us individually and as a community. The down turn in the economy continues to challenge some of us, some people are struggling to find work, or money is tight as companies reduce orders and hours available to work are less. Others benefit from low interest rates and lower mortgage payments. The risk of the gap between the haves and have-nots widening increases.

We are now in our summer break. Although this means fewer 'church' activities, the daily worship our our Lord, through our daily activities, continues.

Enjoy the break. Take our Lord with you wherever you go. If you are on holiday, have a great time.

See you in September.

Pentecost Celebration

Pentecost marks a significant step in the development of the Christian faith. As everybody met together, the Spirit came and rested upon them.

Prophecies were fulfilled on that day, and many people came to follow Jesus.

Peter encouraged people to repent and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. This was the promise made to all.

On Sunday 31 May we will be celebrating Pentecost as we all meet together to relive the promise.

This is an event for everybody - the promise is for you, your children and those still far off.

4pm, Sunday 31 May at St Wilfrid's Church, Kibworth. There will be a family picnic afterwards.

Organised jointly by St Wilfrid's Church, Kibworth; Kibworth Methodist Church and New Life Church - Fleckney.

UPDATE

It was a great afternoon, with almost 100 people coming together, as a family in God, to celebrate. Here are a few photo's from the day

24/7 Prayer Room

For those of you who may not yet have visited the prayer room (at The Well, 45 High Street, Kibworth), there are still slots available. They tend to book up about three days in advance, so if you have a particular time in mind, it is worth popping in early. If you are a pretty flexible, there is normally one slot just waiting to be filled!

There are some great prayers and testiomonies on the walls and in the prayer books. And the feeling of just spending some time with God is phenominal.

Here are some more photos from both the Prayer Room and from the waiting area.

And these are from the lobby area where anybody and everybody is welcome to come and add an image.

Prayer Room Update

During Lent, the Prayer Room is open 24 hours a day.

Feedback so far has been terrific, and some slots are in great demand. As always, the success of these initiatives is not just in praying none stop for 40 days and nights, but is the way that God moves both within those involved in praying, and in the community.

At the moment, the prayer room is one of only three in the UK, and the only one going for the whole of Lent.

You can pop in during the day, and have a look round, leave a prayer request and see how work is progressing on The Well. And you can look at available slots.

Taking an hour out of a busy schedule to spend time with God is a tremendous opportunity. Focusing thoughts on the one who loves us unconditionally.

In the Prayer Room there are ideas for prayer, books to reflect on and poems. And outside in the waiting area there is Painting Wall. Anybody can add to it, and we post some photographs as it progresses here and on our FACEBOOK site.

Pop into the Prayer Room. It is at The Well, 45 High Street, Kibworth.

24/7 Prayer

It was few years ago that the first 24/7 Prayer Room came to Kibworth during Lent. It is a phenominal undertaking, and a real blessing for the village, to have none-stop prayer for 40 days.

This year the prayer room is at The Well, High Street, Kibworth. If you don't know where The Well is, it is the building opposite the estate agents/Post Office on the High Street.

The Prayer Room starts Shrove Tuesday and continues for forty days and nights until Palm Sunday. Anybody can take part - one hour slots are available and generally book up in advance. During 'office hours' you can pop into the Prayer Room to find out more about it and ask for a prayer request. And if you want to ou can sign up for a slot.

Inside the prayer room there are ideas of how and how to pray for, but you might just want to spend a bit of time in quiet contemplation. You maybe surprised at how quickly you become aware that God is with you.

Review - Sunday 8 February 2009

Well, the weather proved a challenge and Lori, and her team, were unable to make it from Birmingham, but loads of you turned up never the less.

God's hand was apparent as a locally produced service for praise, worship and prayer was produced and led by Ludger, Jane and Alison. Jane's testimony spoke of the amazing power of the Spirit whilst powerful worship showed that a full band is not always needed!

The night closed with prayer.

Use the comments section for any feedback on the night.

An alternative date for Lori to come will be arranged.

And don't forget the next Kibworth and Fleckney Praise is on Sunday 8 March, 7.30pm at New Life - Fleckney, Fleckney Village Hall.

More details soon.
